Skoutas Dimitrios
Internist Diabetologist
Dimitrios Skoutas is a physician and internist specializing in diabetes mellitus. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the Democritus University of Thrace, specializing in diabetic foot since 2011.
He received the title of General Practitioner in 2001 and was recognized as a Diabetes Specialist in 2020 by the Center for Educational and Consultative Support. He worked as a pro bono researcher at the Diabetes Center of Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki from 2001 to 2005.
For 11 years, Doctor Skoutas was a general practitioner and diabetologist at the IKA Central Clinic of Thessaloniki (2003-2014). Since 2006, he has been the head of the therapeutic department at the Anagennisi Recovery and Rehabilitation Center and, since 2015, the scientific director and responsible therapist at the Lysimachos Sarafianos Clinic in Thessaloniki. He is also a researcher at the Diabetes Center of Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki.
He takes an active part in conferences and seminars with speeches, works, announcements, and publications, and also participates in major clinical studies related to diabetes. He is a teacher and curator of postgraduate courses at the International University of Greece, specializing in diabetes mellitus.
Dimitrios Skoutas has been the President of the Diabetology Association of Northern Greece since July 2020. He is the secretary of the Atherosclerosis Society of Northern Greece. He is one of the founders of the Hellenic Association for the Study of Diabetic Foot Diseases and the Hellenic Diabetic Academy. He is also a member of the Pan-European Diabetic Foot Study Group (DFSG) and other scientific societies.
