Vascular surgeon Christos Karkos, based in Thessaloniki, is one of the most well-known names in the field of Vascular Surgery in Northern Greece. He has extensive experience, modern scientific knowledge, and high-level academic certification, combined with professionalism and, above all, a human approach to all cases.
Associate Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and former Lecturer in Vascular Surgery at the internationally renowned Vascular Surgery Clinic of the University of Leicester (UK), vascular surgeon Christos Karkos has 12 years of specialization and further training in the UK.
He has also trained alongside leading figures in vascular surgery worldwide, including Professors Nick London (specializing in venous diseases), Ross Naylor (a global authority on carotid diseases), and Robert Sayers (specializing in abdominal aortic aneurysms), as well as pioneering interventional radiologist Amman Bolia, the “inventor” of intravascular angioplasty. His CV also includes further training in Endovascular Surgery in Utrecht (Netherlands).
Vascular surgeon Christos Karkos is a certified member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS, Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK). He holds the European title in Interventional Radiology (EBIR, European Boards of Interventional Radiology) and has been an examiner for the European Vascular Surgery title (FEBVS, Fellowship of the European Boards of Vascular Surgery) since 2011. He is also a professor in the Master (MSc) in Endovascular Techniques, organized by the Vascular Surgery Clinic of the University of Athens in collaboration with the University of Milano-Bicocca, Italy.
