Arman is a boy with cerebral palsy who came with his mother from Kazakhstan to Thessaloniki for treatment. The child couldn’t stand or walk. After a detailed examination, he underwent an orthopedic operation, at which the heel tendons on both ankles were lengthened and a posterior part of the capsule of the ankle was released. Then, an extra articular arthrodesis was made on the left leg because of a serious paralytic valgus deformity.
The operation, which was carried out by the orthopaedic surgeon of St.Luke’s clinic Aristotelis Sideridis, was successful. Arman, for the first time in his life, got a hope to walk correctly. A month after the operation at the Medical and rehabilitation centre “Anagennisi” he underwent rehabilitation treatment. The child returned home with some wonderful results.
